What if my gold is in a pile?

What if my gold is broken?

How do you determine the value of my gold?

First we determine what karat your gold is. Don’t worry, if you don’t know, that’s ok. Or if you have a pile of different karat gold, that’s okay too!

Determining the karat of your gold is an important first step, because it tells us how much gold is in that particular piece of jewelry.

We will put your jewelry into different piles, based off their weight. Once they are separated, we will weigh each pile based off karats using our Florida State Certified Class 2 Scales.

Once we have the weight, we apply the current gold price to the amount of actual gold you have. That determines the amount we pay for your scrap gold jewelry.

8K = 33% Gold

9K = 37.5% Gold

10K = 41.7% Gold

14K = 58.3% Gold

18K = 75% Gold

22K = 91.6% Gold

24K = 99.9% Gold

EXAMPLE:

Lets assume the price of gold is $1200 an ounce and a customer has:

9 dwt (pennyweight; 20dwt to an ounce) of 10K   = $1200 x .417 / 20 x 9 = $225.18

12 dwt of 14K = $1200 x .583 / 20 x  12 = $419.76

5.4 dwt of 18K = $1200 x .75 / 20 x 5.4 = $243.00

For a total of $887.94

We have to divide by 20 because there are 20dwt to an ounce.
